Free Download: Young Love "Black Boots"
I alerted you a few months ago about new Young Love music when I premiered the singer's brand-new single "Black Boots." The song is taken from his forthcoming new album "One Of Us," which follows his excellent debut "Too Young To Fight It." "One Of Us" will drop in stores on April 28.
"Too Young Too Fight It" featured slick, synth-infused dance rock that got fans excited on both sides of the Atlantic. Produced by John King from the Dustbrothers (Beck, Beastie Boys), "One Of Us" once again promises to set dancefloors ablaze, but will also show off a more reflective side of the Texas singer. "It's different," Keyes says about his sophomore album. "It's older. As a songwriter I've matured. I have a more focused, clear idea of what I want to do musically and lyrically."
Download a totally guilt-free MP3 of "Black Boots" to get an idea what Keyes and King have been spending their time on. It is a confident arena filler with jagged guitars, an anthemic bassline, subtle electro stylings and a very catchy, sing-along chorus. Surprising is that electro breakdown towards the end of the song with some crafty vocal layering and a burping synth effect . Erasure would be so proud.

Cool - glad to see Young Love is back at it. I hope he gets a bit more electronic on his other tracks though - that's his strong point I think.
