Hot New Talent Alert: La Roux
La Roux is somebody to keep your eye on in 2009. Check out the singer's '80s inspired debut single "Quicksand" that perfectly combines a catchy, indie vibe with commercial pop sensibilities. And look at her! She's Britain's answer to Robyn with her quirky style and fun, short ginger bob.
Watch La Roux's excellent debut video that was directed by Polish-Australian music video director Kinga Burza who recently also shot videos for Kate Nash, Ladyhawk and Katy Perry.
The "Quicksand" EP is available on Beatport and includes remixes from Benji, autoKratz and Chateau Marmont.

Is anyone else strongly reminded of Prince's "When Doves Cry"? I like the song, but after listening to it I somehow have "When Doves Cry" stuck in my head.
