If Fall Out Boy would team up with Tori Amos, it would sound something like "That's What It Takes, Dear."

Fall Out Boy singer Patrick Stump teams with indie rockers Kristeenyoung (not a typo) on "That's What It Takes Dear." The song is taken from the group's new album, "Music for Strippers, Hookers, And The Odd On-looker" that was produced by Tony Visconti (David Bowie, Semi Precious Weapons).

The group's front lady Kristeen Young explains how the song came about in a press release. "The song is about the duality of the human spirit. It’s about a battle that a person has with one’s self when at the lowest of low times," she says. "Lucky me, not only did Patrick’s voice caress these oddly rhythmed melody lines better than how I imagined, Patrick, personally, seemed to embody the role. He embraced the song with focus and optimism, and was an actual lift of light to my often heavy (and…YES) depressed soul. I am so fortunate that Patrick loved my song so, and that he had no reservations about expressing it.”

The track is really all over the place. You will either love it or intensely dislike it. I have to give it a few more spins to chew on it.

Thanks for posting this track. I was intrigued by your write-up but didn't get round to listening until today. I really loved it. Loved the awkward rhythms and the way the two vocal parts weave together. Kristeen's vocal sounds like Kate Bush at times, which can only be a good thing. In fact I thought the song sounded like an update of the sound on Kate's Hounds of Love album. Great stuff. Thanks.
