Video Premiere: The Chemical Brothers "Midnight Madness"

On September 2, The Chemical Brothers are releasing "Brotherhood," a new greatest hits package. And with a compilation set also comes a brand-new single, titled "Midnight Madness," which goes along with a spanking new video.

The video is a bit of a freak show, showing some sort of outrageous monster or goblin dressed in a gold pant suit prancing, crawling and break dancing around town at night. Think that description is weird? Make sure to watch the video. This might very well be that monster that you'd thought was hiding under your bed when you were a kid.

The duo's "Brotherhood" greatest hits collection comprises 2 discs - the first is a collection of 13  singles from the band's large back catalog, featuring "Galvanize," "Hey Boy Hey Girl," "Block Rockin' Beats" and "Star Guitar. Also included are the new tracks "Midnight Madness" and "Keep My Composure" that is a shimmering collaboration with Baltimore's Spank Rock.

The second disc will feature exclusively tunes from the duo's so-called "Electronic Battle Weapons" collection. The group released these rare tracks as limited edition cuts for DJs to play in clubs and to use in remixes. Over the years, these "Electronic Battle Weapons" have served as laboratories for The Chemical Brothers' musical experiments and laid the rhythmic and melodic foundations for numerous tracks as well as providing some of the duo's most formidable mixes.

The Chemicals put out Singles 93-03 a couple of years ago, so maybe they're following the New Order model of putting out a "Singles Collection" followed by a "Greatest Hits" followed by a Box Set instead of making new music at this point.
