Listen to Janelle Monáe's Debut Single "Many Moons"

At the risk of turning into a Janelle Monáe fan site, there's more to report on the singer today.

Bad Boy Records announced last night that "Many Moons" has been selected as the singer's debut single. It's a quirky little number that matches style with substance. "When you're growing down instead of growing up, tell me are you bold enough to reach for love?," she sings. The genre-blurring song clearly invokes memories of Outkast and that should come as no surprise as it was co-produced by Antwon "Big Boi" Patton.

You must listen to this. This is finger-licking good.

I love this song! I don't think Big Boi actually co-wrote any of the songs on her release though. She works with Wondaland Productions who produced this song as well as all of the others on Metropolis.

Thank you for introducing me to Janelle Monae, Arjan. I went to her concert in NYC a month ago based on your recommendation and she blew my feeble mind.

yeah this song is killer. Flat out amazing! Ima a huge fan of hers. Yeah, Beast from the East is right. Janelle has her own label the Wondaland Arts Society that made this great record happen. I think Big and others are just lucky to be working with such great talents over there. They are dope!!!
