Audio: Arjan Interviews Róisín Murphy (Part 4 of 5)

Arjanwrites_roisin_part4

In Part 4 of my interview series with Róisín Murphy, the singer explains how she feels about being sexy. We came to that topic after we talked about Madonna's disco revival on "Confession On A Dancefloor." Murphy wondered if Madonna's spandex look was really all that appealing to men. From there we segued into the topic of album tracks and I asked her why she only decided to include one ballad on "Overpowered."

One of my favorite tracks on "Overpowered" is the gritty "Dear Miami," which was produced by Jimmy Douglas and Ill Factor in Miami, Florida. She explains how the track came about and how Douglas used to teach her about American urban music while on the way to the studio in the morning.
