Video Premiere: Mika "Happy Ending" (+ MP3)
Executives at Mika's record company have found themselves a nice, little cash cow.
Anywhere but in the United States, Mika mania is still going strong. The singer continues to score hits around the world and is currently high up in the charts in countries ranging from The Netherlands ("Relax") to Australia ("Love Today"). A reader from Singapore wrote me recently that a Mika song is played on the radio "every hour."
Check out the very celestial, slow-mo video for Mika's brand-new single "Happy Ending," which is arguably one of the weakest tracks on his "Life In Cartoon Motion" album. The video features Mika being lifted into space by a pink balloon, encountering talking hands and flying mics while floating around in orbit.
The song shows off Mika's flawless falsetto and is a good example of his unique brand of flamboyant poperatics that combines the singer's education in classical music with his love for pop, opera and musical tunes. Universal Republic is still hosting a guilt-free MP3 of the song so make sure to get it while you can.
When will they be releasing "Lollipop" as a single? Now that would be fun!

I couldn't agree more on the Lollipop-comment.
Takes me back to last Lowlands when his crew dressed up in animal-costume was throwing candy in the audience.
Such fun!

Weakest? Oh Come on! It's a great single!

I wouldn't say it's the weakest track on the album either. I think it's a gorgeous song. Perhaps a little repetitive though.

Hmm, the video version is actually different - and nicer - than the album version. Wonder where one can find the video version?

Yes, may be the weakest track - and still as glorious.

Wasn't Lollipop released as a single in, um, somewhere? :P Yeah, it was; Uk and France, Norway and Switzerland. Not that it did terribly well.
I love Happy Ending; Billy Brown and My Interpretation would have to be the weakest traks on the album..

Lollipop has not released, but did enter the UK chart from download sales, no video has been made.
I love the happy ending video, it's a great song!
Lollipop has to be coming!!!

I think the album overall is one of the best recently - this track is a "listen to the lyrics" kinna song - easy tune but a little story to be told. Billy Brown is the same with a more Beautiful South twist to it (note to Americans and other Aliens (a Phrase from Terry Pratchett- Good Omens - a rather good NW English band that came from the Housemartins that Fatboy Slim was a member of - I sound like one of those "what's the connection" pub quiz questions lol))
bloody good album though!

Frankly, he's overplayed. No one deserves to hear/be tortured by/tolerate 1000 times of 'Love Today' on their lifetime.
