Listen to the New Tegan & Sara Single
The first time I saw Tegan & Sara perform was back in 2005 when they opened for The Killers on their Hot Fuss tour at the historic Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. It was the time that Brandon still wore pink Dior jackets and was anchored to his keyboards to let us know that you had a boyfriend who looked like a girlfriend he had in February of last year.
Since then, identical twins Tegan & Sara have played, toured and performed throughout the country for over 18 months non-stop to build a core fanbase from the ground up. A breakthrough moment came when The White Strips covered their catchy single "Walking With A Ghost" in 2005. The song was also mashed up with Mylo's "Paris Four Hundred, dubbed "Walking With A Ghost in Paris," that became a sough-after club hit and a staple on dance radio.
Following up 2004's hit album, titled "So Jealous," Tegan And Sara teamed up with Death Cab For Cutie's Christopher Walla to share production duties on their forthcoming new disc "The Con," and also enlisted guest contributors Death Cab's Jason McGerr (drums), Matt Sharp of Weezer (bass) and Kaki King (guitar).
Tegan & Sara deliver more of their bright pop-folk, cutesy lyrics and pretty vocal harmonies on their new single "Back In Your Head." They sing, "I know these habits hurt important parts of you. Remember when I was sweet and unexplainable. I'm not unfaithful. But I'll stray." Even if one of the ladies stray a little far, how can you not adore such honesty? Tegan & Sara are irresistible.
The promote new "The Con" (out July 24), Tegan & Sara will be touring Europe and North America. If you have a chance, go check out. Full gig listing on their MySpace page.
