Free Download: Freezepop "Ninja Of Love"

Freezepop are like brightly-colored ice popsicles. You gotta lick 'em while they're cold.

The trio of Liz Enthusiasm (vocalist/fashion plate), the Duke of Pannekoeken (programmering) and Sean T. Drinkwater (synths/vocoder) are based in Boston and have been playing together since 1999. Freezepop have independently released two full-length CDs, "Freezepop Forever" (2000) and "Fancy Ultra-Fresh" (2004). These albums plus a whole bunch of EPs and remixes are available on iTunes.

Get a guilt-free MP3 of Freezepop's "Ninja Of Love" that is taken from their upcoming album "Future Future Future Perfect" that will be released by Cordless Recordings/Rykodisc on September 25. It is easy to pull out a bunch of '80s references to describe Freezepop's music. But to avoid cliches, I'll let you decide for yourself. It suffices to say that their sonic stylings are pretty slick and emphasize Liz's crispy vocals.

Their label encourages retailers to file Freezepop under "Goldfrapp, Human League or Ladytron" so that gives you a slight hint. They probably should have added Erasure to that list.
