Stream Krezip "Plug It In & Turn Me On"
For those of you who are sucked into the Esmee/Justin Timberlake hype, I'd like to present to you another very talented Dutch act that is gaining some momentum in the international arena. They're called Krezip and they are a 6 piece pop band formed around the fun and frisky Jacqueline Goveart (aka the Lady in Pink). The group recently got some nice international exposure when they filled in for Amy Winehouse who cancelled her appearance at the Pinkpop Festival last minute.
Back in 2005, I wrote about Kezip's single "I Apologize" that was presented to music mogul Clive Davis for a proper release in North America, but as is the case with so many bands Krezip didn't fit the flavor of the month and were pushed to the side.
Now the group is back sounding more international than ever. The band hooked up with Felix Rodriguez and Jesper Anderberg from Swedish pop-rock outfit The Sounds. The duo wrote the tracks "Play That Game", "You're Wrong" and "All My Life" for Krezip's new album "Plug It In."
Lead single from the album is "Plug It In & Turn Me On." Produced according to proven radio-friendly, pop-rock formula, it is nothing totally earth-shattering. It is just an unpretentious summer jam with a hooky, swirling synth riff that will get your feet tapping in no time. Click here to watch the video. (Special request to Krezip: Get this track on iTunes ASAP!)
