Jojo Does Toto
I'm a kid of the '80s so a little bit of Toto brings back a lots of memories. Teen singer Jojo used Toto's 1982 hit "Africa" as the main ingredient for her new single "Anything," the much anticipated follow up to "Too Little, Too Late." It is good, but it is not great. Every time I listen to it, I'm waiting for Bobby Kimball's vocals to kick in. Toto's melody is so well-known that it is a distraction from Jojo's revamp to me. The singer defintely has the chops and a voice that does this mid-tempo pop R&B tune fully justice, but my bet is on Rihanna to deliver this year's summer smash.

While this song in its original incarnation, is nowhere near a summer smash. However, the remix of it is. It eliminates the hokey sample and only brings it out during the bridge. The whole thing is much more up-tempo than the boring version on her MySpace page.
