Free Download: Faber Drive "Second Chance"

Faber Drive's debut single "Second Chance" will be the big summer jam of 2007. It is pop, it is rock, it is mainstream, it is big & bold, it packs great energy for every occasion and, most importantly, it is very easy to sing along to. I have no doubt that this slick guilty pleasure will be a staple hit on top 40 radio in a few months from now. Consider yourself warned.

Faber Drive are Faber (guitar, vocals), Hinsley (guitar, backing vocals), Krikit (bass) and Red Bull (drums). The group grabbed the spotlight last year after they won a local radio contest and were voted the best band in Vancouver Canada. Scouts for the Universal Republic label immediately saw the potential of the band with their radio-friendly pop rock sound that is reminiscent of hits by Yellowcard and Dashboard Confessional, and also is great melodic fare for one of these cheesy MTV "reality" shows.

It is important for Faber Drive not only to be a band that blasts out catchy tunes. "We like to put hope into people," says drummer Red Bull on the group's MySpace page. "We don't want to be one of those bands that has no message."

The single "Second Chance" is taken of the group's debut album "Seven Second Surgery" that is scheduled for release in May on Universal Republic. Full details about the release are still under wraps. The group's MySpace page is not even streaming full versions of the featured tracks. It is as if the savvy marketers at Universal Republic know that Faber Drive is golden and they are carefully strategizing their move.
