Brit Awards 2007 Winners
Earlier today, the annual Brit Awards show took place at London's Earl's Court. The show can be considered the equivalent of the Grammy Awards show in the United States. And with more and more great new British talent conquering North America, it is worth watching the show to find out which acts the music-forward Brits favor.
Stand out moments of the night included a fun, loopy acceptance speech by Amy Winehouse (pictured above) who won for Best Female Artist, the Arctic Monkeys dressed up as the Village People to accept their award for Best British Group, The Killers' excellent life performance of "When You Were Young," Joss Stone's much-deserved shout out to Robbie Williams, Nelly Furtado run off the stage after winner for Best International Female Artist and Justin Timberlake asking people not to drink too much in his acceptance speech for the award for Best International Male Artist.
Robbie Williams was the butt of a few jokes made by presenter/comedian Russell Brand. Before introducing a live performance of Take That's "Patience," he joked that one of the reasons for Williams health issues is the unexpected success of the reunited Take That. But he added that things could quickly change in the land of pop music. "Robbie Williams could be prime minister by the end of the week, while Take That could be imprisoned for being the next shoe bombers," Brand quipped.

arctic monkeys winning as best british group puzzles me a little (beating out snow patrol and muse?!?), but woohoo! to the killers for bagging the best intl band after failing to win anything at the grammys.

Yay the killers won both the awards they were up for - i love them so much and i think after the year they've had they deserve both awards to be honest. Im happy for the arctic monkeys to win both of their awards, their album is fantastic and their exceptance speeches were really funny! It was a great night ♥
Looking forward to the NME awards now on March 1st - the killers are up for 4 awards and Brandon is up for 2 on his own!! :P
