Free Download: Basement Jaxx ft. Robyn "Hey U"
There is beauty in chaos. That's what I was thinking when I listened to Basement Jaxx's brand-new album "Crazy Itch Radio" for the first time. The duo's blend of different musical styles is so unorganized, bombastic and completely over the top that it seems a formula for disaster. But the Jaxx are able to successfully tweak and combine hip hop grooves, world beats and pop melodies to create an invigorating sonic experience that is essentially so abrasive that you'll want to hear it again and again. Guaranteed.
Take for example the track "Hey U" from the new record. It is a perfect example of how the Jaxx work. They stir up crazy beats with some Diplo-esque favela funk, an Eastern European horn section and throw in the straight-laced vocals of Swedish popster Robyn. What you get is an refreshing brew that is both insanely genre-pushing and pleasantly familiar. (Thanks to the guys at Beggars for allowing me to post the song.)

Forget about Jessica & Beyonce, Christina and Rihanna, *this* gem of a track was my summer jam. I couldn't adore Robyn more!

Wow!!! This song is so amazing that it makes me jump up and down with joy! First time i heard it, it put a huge smile on my face!

I wish more people in the states got Basement Jaxx. At first, the new record didn't wow me like their past albums, but after seeing them live (again) & LOVING it, They're AMAZING live & so much fun...I went back to Crazy Itch Radio & can't get enough of it. it's electronic, dance, disco, funk, soul & R&B in one! My fav tracks are Take me Back to your House, Hey You, Everybody, & Smoke & Bubbles. People, if you want to have a boogie, this is your album, for any season.
