Goldfrapp Unveils U.S. Tour Plans

Arjanwrites_alisonandwill2

Yes folks. It appears to be really happening this time. Check out this press release that was issued today:

"Red-hot U.K platinum act Goldfrapp —who are continuing to build a firestorm of critical acclaim in America for their "Supernature" album on Mute—will make their Late Show With David Letterman debut Wednesday, May 17.  This appearance is part of select U.S. May dates that will find Goldfrapp performing as the special guests of Depeche Mode Saturday, May 13 at Jones Beach in New York and then, as a special treat for New Yorkers, headlining a gig Monday, May 15 at Irving Plaza in Manhattan before the Letterman spot.  The U.S. itinerary gets underway May 8 for a sold-out show at the Fillmore in San Francisco and moves to Portland for another sold-out performance (May 10, Crystal Ballroom, presented by KNRK) and Seattle (May 11, Showbox, presented by KEXP) before heading east.  A full-on U.S. fall tour is now in the planning stages."

Okay, slowly but surely this tour finally seems to get on the road. Where should they go this fall? Perhaps I can send them some suggestions.

So they issue a press release about a four and half gig mini tour after two of the gigs sell out with no real previous promotion? I'm confused.

Well, they obviously need to come back to LA, as we always show them serious love.

Get me some back stage passes, Arjan. :P

I would love for them to come back to washington dc. I saw them at the 930 club in 2003 and it was amazing. I would go to new york for the show at irving plaza, but I'm not in a good position to lay down $500 for a train ticket/hotel. Plus getting off from work would be a bitch.

It's strange they are playing 3 west coast dates and jumping to the east for the new york shows, i'm gussing that goldfrapp is testing the waters to see if they could do a successful headlining US tour.

Ditto on the multiple Canadian dates. We get stiffed on a lot of tours.

SAW GOLDFRAPP IN TORONTO
AT OPERA HOUSE IN 2003.
TORONTO ALWAYS MAKES THE CUT FOR
SHOWS.
I LIKED GOLDFRAPP BACK IN 2000 AND NOW THAT 'MADONNA' HAS BEEN MENTIONING GOLDFRAPP AS A NEW INSPIRATION SINCE LAST YEAR....IM FINISHED WITH GOLDFRAPP...
HER FAME HAS KILLED HER.
