Scissor Sisters at Bowery Ballroom

Scissorsisters_bowery05_1

Scissor Sisters performed two concerts at New York's Bowery Ballroom this weekend. I assume these gigs were used to play some of their new music to gauge the audience response and to stir up some momentum for what's to come. Even some of their peers were in attendance. Kylie Minogue (yes! Kylie Minogue!) was at their show last night. David emailed me that he saw Cher in the crowd on Saturday. He also wrote that the new songs sound really good. "'I Don't Feel Like Dancing' is the stand out track, totally catchy and fun," he wrote me this morning. "Ana was hysterical all night. She joked about having a dream that she ran into Madonna at the Roxy. Jake looked like he's been working out."If anybody has photos or more stories, please share! Saturday's setlist:

Take Your Mama
I Can't Decide
Tits on the Radio
She's My Man
Laura
Paul McCartney
Everybody Wants the Same Thing
Kiss You Off
Mary
The Other Side
I Don't Feel Like Dancing
Comfortably Numb
Music Is the Victim
Land of a Thousand Words
ENCORE: Filthy Gorgeous

hello arjan....would be wonderful if i didn't work with such immensely cheap and myopic individuals so that streaming was possible...there could be more inclusive color and actual sharing instead of pilfering....there is a grand difference -- separate from the notion of pretension that enters the space as well as rather distasteful vision that i've encountered over the past few months -- on what became an immensely shallow tour and experience reflecting on the rather drab state of much....hats off to several blogs but many are becoming a little to server stat conscious -- one can smell the urban decay in the postings.

As to reason behind the couple of NYC gigs they were probably warm up shows because Scissor Sisters are opening for Depeche Mode later this week.

No song called 'Cher' - it's a track called 'Hairbaby' - tho it hasnt been heard since last summers gigs.
