Stream Corinne Bailey Rae "Put Your Records On" (Live)
What do you get when you combine Lauryn Hilll's soulful vocals with the spunk of Macy Gray and Sade's smooth storytelling? The answer is Corinne Bailey Rae, a British soul singer from Leeds who put out her debut EP "Like A Star" late 2005. The British press has called her the new Billy Holiday, which is a huge comparison to live up to. But the singer takes the success in stride and says she's is "shocked" with her sudden rise to fame in an interview with the BBC.
Her first single "Put The Records On" is a fun, laid-back soul pop tune that is a great introduction to her sound. Her self-titled debut album will hit stores in the U.K. next week and (mark my words) this will surely be a contender for the 2006 Mercury Prize.

Corinne is Awesome!!!!! I heard a song of her's on Saturday Night Live this past weekend, here in the US. I fell in love with her instantly. When will her album be released in the US?????
