Video Premiere: The Freelance Hellraiser "Want You To Know"
Roy Kerr, aka The Freelance Hellraiser, is best known for his DJ gigs and mash up productions. Kerr put together the amazing "A Stroke Of Genius," the Christina Aguilera/The Strokes mash up classic that popularized the mash up genre and put him on the map as one of London's most innovative spinmeisters. (On a related note, 2002's "A Stroke Of Genius" sounds oddly familiar to Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone.")
On February 27, Kerr is releasing "Want You To Know," the first single from his debut artist album "Waiting For Clearance" that only includes original productions. The record includes vocal contributions by Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol) and his Kerr's wife Lalula. Helping out on the production of the album are Jacknife Lee (U2) and Anu Pillai (Freedom Five).
"Want You To Know" is one of the most mellow tracks from the album and will surely do well in the European charts that have been appreciative of slower, moodier pop songs recently (as shown by the success of acts like James Blunt and Nizlopi). Preview a few tracks on The Freelance Hellraiser's MySpace page. (Click here to pre-order "Want You To Know" from 7Digital.)
