Video Premiere: Panic! At The Disco "I Write Sins Not Tragedies"
Las Vegas pop-rock group Panic! At The Disco are getting bigger and bigger in Europe. While zigzagging the continent this week, I've been watching MTV and these guys are getting loads of airplay for their new single "I Write Sins Not Tragedies." The carnival-esque theme of the video for the song combines the gothy wedding tragedy of My Chemical Romance's "Helena" with The Killers' eyeliner-styled campiness in their fabulous Mr. Brightside video. Very appropriate since Panic! holds a nice middle between these two bands with their infectious power pop. I really like the energy of this band ever since I heard "Time To Dance" that I chose as one of my fave singles for 2005. European fame is just a matter of time and America will be next. This song and video seem to be a knock-off of The Killers "Mr. Brightside". It's not bad, but wholly unoriginal.

It's OK to be like Brightside which in its way is a visual rip off of bands like placebo, smashing pumpkins and the more obvious cure. The lead singer is pretty cute too.

Panic! At the Disco are the most amazingly original and experimental band! Brendon Urie's voice is amazing and on top of guitars and drums with tunes that will leave you addicted! I love them soooo much...it's all I've been listening to this past month. I highly recommend them as they have oh so surely become my favourite band...and I've never had a proper favourite band before! I'm going to see them along with MCR and loadsa other amazing bands on April 29th in Earls Court! Can't wait! But, yup, Panic! are definitely a unique band that I hope will do well!
