Chris Martin About The Killers
Singer Chris Martin gave The Killers a shout out during Coldplay's performance in Las Vegas, NV last week. Right before performing "God Put A Smile Upon Your Face," Martin said: "Now this is a song about when you look at yourself in the mirror ten minutes before you go on stage, and you've just met The Killers, who you think are the best band coming through - in a slightly terrifying sense - they're slightly too good to be true. And anyway, you've just met The Killers who you love and respect, and you look in the mirror five minutes before you go on stage, and you think you've got to be good because The Killers are here, and all these people paid all this money... And you suddenly realise that you look like Michael Bolton circa 1976." [source]

Why must this guy continually air his insecurities to the public? It's quite enough to be neurotic, there's no need to make a competition out of everything...it's music. Write and play.

Be nice. He's talking bout the Killers who are much better than Coldplay will ever be so of course he is a little intimidated.
