Video Premiere: Nizlopi "My JCB"
Nizlopi is a quirky singer/songwriter duo from the U.K. who are an overnight sensation in the British pop chart. They could not keep X-Factor winner Shane Ward from taking the Christmas number one position, but the group is going strong, maintaining their number two position this week. Very impressive for a lo-fi, indie act that purely has relied on word to mouth.
Nizlopi are Luke and John who met on the school bus when they were thirteen. After playing in all kinds of dfferent bands together, they fully commited to Nizlopi early 2005 to work on their debut album "Half These Songs Are About You." In the vein of John Mayer, "My JCB" is a feel-good, touching story written from the perspective of a young Luke who gets to skip school to drive with his dad on a JCB truck. Hopefully, we'll see Nizlopi back on Austin's SWSX Music Conference this year. (Thanks to Craig for giving me a heads up.)

you have a few of your facts wrong. the album has been out since 2004 and the boys have been in nizlopi since they were kids. they met when they were 13 and have been writing songs ever since then. there were no other bands. the songs is called 'jcb song' and yes they will be back at sxsw this year. but thanks for the lovely review.
