Get well, Mylo! Sign E-Card
When I last spoke with Mylo, he was very excited about his pending album release in the United States. His management also announced a limited club tour in North America to promote the record. However, a serious illness is going to spoil all the fun. Mylo (aka Myles McInnes) has been hit with a nasty viral disease that has caused hearing loss in one ear. I can only imagine the devatastion any person (and a musician in particular) experiences when losing the ability to hear.
This is a formal statement that was put out by his management: "Myles contracted a virus over the New Year which resulted in partial hearing loss in one ear. Unfortunately the situation has since worsened and he has lost hearing in one ear completely, and has only partial hearing in his other ear. He was hoping that a couple of days rest would help regain his hearing. However, since his arrival in Cape Town for a show and receiving specialist medical treatment, unfortunately no progress has been made. As a result of this, he is grounded in Cape Town and unable to move at the moment." [source]

Get well soon mate - I first saw you at the festival on Skye and have since saw you a couple of times. Was even gonna travel to NYC for the Avalon show!
Frustrating as it may be, take your time with the recovery...your health is more the most important thing.

My heart goes out to Mylo. As you know, I've experienced a Temporary Threshold Shift once, and miraculously made a full recovery. But the experience was frightening. Not everyone is so fortunate. The worst part about Mylo's situation is that his loss was caused by a virus, and it wasn't something he could have prevented.
Hearing is a gift that most people take for granted until faced with losing it. I wish him the best.
