Video Premiere: Depeche Mode "Precious"
Take a tour of Depeche Mode's sci-fi cruise liner in the video for their new single "Precious." The video was shot in London at the end of June by famed director Uwe Flade who previously directed videos for Franz Ferdinand and Dave Gahan's solo project. With the band in front of a blue screen, Flade has created a visually stunning, mechanical underwater world that fits the atmospheric qualities of the song well. In general, I find the look and feel of this video a lot brighter than most of Depeche Mode's other videos. This is a good reflection of the lighter fare on their new album "Playing The Angel." As I sat and listened to 'Precious' for the first time, I had to admit that it was reminiscent of an older style Depeche Mode. A style that I happen to love. Martin Gore has the unique ability to tell a love story like only he can. He focuses on the obscure aspects of relationships or is it just obscure relationships - I haven't figured out which; maybe both. Anyhow, 'Precious' won't leave any fan disappointed - Dave Gahan's vocals work with precision to the electronic pulse. I am looking forward to listening to the entire CD 'Playing the Angel'.

I believe that this album will be very good. I am very happy that they take out disk after so much time. The truth, was surprised me when she listens to it for the first time. But it is necessary to recognize that it is very good and it is worthwhile to buy the disk.Depeche Mode I WANT YOU!!!!

im a big dm fan, and i love this song! The melody and arrangement is completely hypnotic! Depeche still have the magic!!!
The "Precious" video goes well with the song's mood. For me, i really think this is one of dms best videos!!! I think the video for "Precious" was simply very well done!!!

Love the song, but the video looks allot like all of the blue/green screen videos out now. (yawn)
